Does a package sent in the mail sorted by hand i.e. an odd shaped package not able to be sorted by the sorting machine not recieve regular scans to update tracking? Also would this cause webtracking delivery estimate to display a later delivery date?

I have no idea if the hand sorting of odd shaped packages would cause it to not receive the normal scans to update tracking. I would suspsect that as long as the package had a valid bar code which could be scanned along the way that it would be treated just as as other packages. I'm sorry I have no more specific information on the scans of odd shaped items.

I live in a condo building of 100 unit owners. Each unit owner has an assigned mailbox in the lobby where we have a doorman. Upon request of a unit owner, can the US Postman give the mail to the doorman and not deposit in the unit owner's mailbox?

I am not sure of the correct answer to that question. I would think that the postman technically would have to put each piece of mail in the box that corresponded to the particular unit, and not have the discretion to just hand the mail to the doorman at the request of the resident.

I got a strange note from the mailman today that I have to put my name on our apt mailbox or it will be returned to sender. I had lots of instances that my mail has been misdirected with the correct address. My question is am I required to?

I don't know the answer to this officially. It would definitely be helpful to put your name on your mailbox, but if a letter were dressed accurately with the correct apt. #, I'm not sure why it would be returned to the sender. If I were delivering to an apt. complex, I wouldn't require this to be done. I live in an apt. building and do put my name on the mailbox, but I don't know that it is required.

Hello, I just moved into a new house and put "please forward" on a UPS package for the previous owner and dropped it in my mail box. I realized my mistake when the owner called for the package. What will happen to the package?

I am not sure what will happen to the UPS Package. The USPS may forward it if they have the correct forwarding address on file for the the previous owner, but they may not be obligated to. The USPS may also forward the package but have the recipient pay for the item being forwarded. The item may also be returned to UPS or to the sender. I'm sorry I can't be any more specific re: the package you are inquiring about.

I don't know of any mandatory waiting period after you take the postal exam which you must wait to take it a second or third time. Good luck to you in taking the exam. There may be a mandaory waiting time, but I just am not familiar with it.

I live in a trailer park and a man that thinks he is the manager wrote the mailman a letter saying to stop everyones mail that lives there, his reason is no one pays rent to him anymore because he would go to casino with the rent. so we now pay rent

I don't know what there is for you to do in that situation. If you are legally allowed to reside in that trailer park, I don't see why they wouldn't allow mail delivery. You could call your Post Office and speak with the delivery supervisor to ask to get mail delivery. Do you have a mailbox set up and a valid address? Another option would be for you to rent a PO Box but you shouldn't have to do that if you are legally residing in the trailer park and paying rent. I've never heard of this situation before.

I recently moved to a new address old place was all bills paid so I'm a new customer to elec,Internet,cable so all those bills only no this address, all bills now have late fee mailman put return to sender w/out my permission is he allowed to?

I think what you are saying is that all of your new bills for your new address are not being delivered to you. For this reason you have incurred late fees. If I read it correctly, you have paid all of your old bills. The letter carrier at your new address should be delivering the new bills to your current address and not be returning them to the sender. You may want to leave a note in your mailbox with your name advising the letter carrier that your name is valid at your new address. You really shouldn't have to do this because when I see a new name to deliver that I'm not familiar with, I deliver the mail anyway and if it's not correct the current resident would usually leave the mail out for me to take back to the PO with a note saying "person doesn't live here"
